We are convinced that players would trust us to generate the hands for this championship honestly.
Even so, we use software that lets us prove it — and now that play is over, the numbers are public. Anyone can check.

About two weeks before the championships we published a file here announcing which sets of hands would be made. That file contained a signature committing us to producing exactly those sets, built from two pieces of information:
A large number associated with each set. It stayed hidden during play and is now included in the file above.
A value nobody could know in advance — the Dow Jones Index on the set date before the championship, as described in the original file.
With both values published, anyone can regenerate every set and compare it, board by board, with what was actually played.
No participant has to check anything. Even if nobody ever does, the fact that anyone can leaves no room for conspiracy theories.
