Systems Information

Registration of Systems

All the systems are duly registered and can be found by going to the following links:

• Systems must be registered by 30 June, and should be sent to systems@worldbridgefed.com . All emails with systems will be acknowledged, so that you can check that it has been received.
• Changes to registered systems may be made up to 5 July. These can only be clarification or correction of typographical errors and any changes must be highlighted for the convenience of other captains.
• Late submission of system cards for a team may result in a penalty for that team.

 Things to note:

• The U21 and U16 Series are Category 3 events in accordance with the WBF Systems Policy and neither Brown Sticker conventions nor HUM systems are permitted at any tim
• The U31, U26 and U26W Series are Category 2 events for the KO Stages only. In accordance with the WBF Systems Policy up to three ‘Brown Sticker’ methods per partnership will be permitted, subject to adequate disclosure, but players using them must submit their Systems Cards & Brown Sticker Announcement Forms (Appendix 1) in advance in accordance with the Conditions of Contest i.e. at the same time as the system for the Round Robin. The system cards detailing the BS Methods must be clearly identified and in addition a viable suggested defence to any BS method must also be filed at the same time. This will be deemed to be a part of the System Card and may be referred to by the opponents at the table.
• Up to four systems may be registered for each team. However the two system cards submitted by a pair playing BS count as a single system.

• The cards must be prepared using the WBF Template in Word or Excel – players are reminded not to use either ‘Numbers’ or ‘Pages’ on a Mac as these do not convert correctly to PDF.
• Cards must be legible and print on two sides – cards that do not do so will be rejected.
• Supplementary sheets (maximum 6) must be cross referenced to the card.

• Cards and supplementary sheets should be sent as PDFs, or if necessary as Word or Excel files. 
• Cards should be sent to systems@worldbridgefed.com
• The file should be named with the name of the players and the team they represent (for example: Newton-Newton U31 Scotland. This makes it easier for the other captains and also for the general registration of systems.

• Players must have hard copies of their cards, correctly printed, to take to the table. No photocopying facilities will be available at the venue, so it is important that sufficient copies are brought to allow for cards being mislaid.

• Once all the cards are registered for a team, that team will be sent the link to the other registered systems in that series.

• Systems Policy Change: As of January 1^st2025 the use of a written defence against the Multi 2 Diamonds (or 2 Clubs) is no longer permitted in WBF events
