Location

The NBO will designate one or more sites where the players will play. These sites must meet the conditions below. The NBO is responsible for ensuring compliance with these conditions.

Equipment

Each player must use a laptop or desktop computer (Windows, Mac or Chromebook). Alternatively, if a tablet is used, it must have a separate keyboard. It is strictly forbidden to use smart phones for play.

The device must have a fully functional camera, microphone and speakers (internal or external).

Supervision

The WBF would like all the participants and the Tournament Directors to be assured that the players are in an environment that is secure and supervised.

Minimum requirement:

• One webcam installed that covers the entire playing area.
• An independent supervisor (who can be a member of the NBO but cannot be the coach or captain of the team) must be assigned overall responsibility for management of:

(1) the remote webcam

(2) internet connectivity

(3) positioning and separation of the players so as to ensure security

(4) the players conformance to the Conditions of Contest relating to the playing area and communications.

• The independent supervisors must be present at the playing site throughout each match

Special circumstances

If a player is unable to travel to a site that meets these requirements, the NBO may apply to the WBF and suggest an alternative arrangement.

If a player is located in another country, please write to the WBF and explain the circumstances and suggest a suitable playing site for that player. Permission may be granted, but not assumed to be granted.
