The World National Teams Championships
Herning, Denmark
20 – 31 August 2025 with registration and Opening Ceremony on 19 August

The World Bridge Federation is pleased to announce that we have reached in-principle agreement to hold the 2025 World National Teams Championship (including the Bermuda Bowl, Venice Cup, D’Orsi Senior Trophy and Wuhan Cup) in Herning, Denmark between August 20 and August 31. The city of Herning, the Herning Bridge Club and the Danish Bridge Federation are generously offering to host their second major international bridge championship in 2 years.

Herning, with its small-town feel, was a popular venue for the European National Teams Championships this year, with a good playing venue, good restaurants, and easy access by road, rail and air (Billund International Airport is a 35-minute drive).

Play will commence on August 20with a new “6+6” schedule. The qualifying round robins will be played over 6 days (4 matches per day except the 6th day). In parallel with the subsequent 6-day knockout rounds (2-day matches starting with Quarterfinals from the 26th) there will be a transnational teams event with 6 guaranteed days of play. The finals will end on 31 August

The 2-day schedule reduction is a step in our efforts to ease the cost of participating in our Representative events; a wish expressed by many of our member NBOs.
